Goully : An Algerian Darija Code-Switching and Translation Platform
Goully is a web and mobile platform designed to help users understand and work with the way Algerians naturally communicate by mixing Darija, French, Arabic, and English in everyday conversations.
The platform provides an intuitive interface where users can enter mixed-language text, automatically detect the languages used, and identify individual segments within a sentence. It then generates a consistent translation into the language of their choice, helping make multilingual communication easier to understand.
Beyond text analysis, Goully offers a dedicated voice interface for spoken input, alongside a mobile-friendly experience that brings its main features together in one place. Users can quickly access text analysis, translation, voice interaction, and their recent activity through a clean, accessible design.
A key feature is its explainability interface, which lets users see how the text is normalized and divided into language segments. Rather than simply providing a translated result, Goully makes the analysis process more transparent and easier to follow.
By combining multilingual text analysis, translation, voice interaction, and explainability, Goully aims to bridge language gaps and make Algeria’s unique mix of languages easier to understand and use in everyday communication.
